Ennerdale is a good valley for cycling in for even the most casual biker,
from Bowness Knott eastwards to the Black Sail Hut at the end of the valley is
all traffic free bridleway, at least it's supposed to be traffic free. The hills
are long gradual inclines, and there is nothing technical, you can even explore
the Forestry Commission tracks on to the higher reaches; but they all tend to be
dead ends. Ennerdale is a far better valley for the casual biker than either of
the Forestry Commission's promoted areas, Grisedale & Whinlatter.
